In a move to strengthen its global scientific positioning, the Sanatan Wisdom Foundation has formally renamed its research wing from the Nada Yoga Research Council (NYRC) to the Nada Yoga Research Institute (NYRI). The change marks a strategic shift to elevate the institute’s role in clinical research, global collaboration, and structured scientific communication.
The Foundation has announced that Devrishi, an Indian philosopher and spiritual researcher, will serve as the Principal Research Advisor to NYRI. Formerly active in the Indian film industry as composer and filmmaker Rishikesh Pandey, Devrishi now leads multiple consciousness-based initiatives that intersect Indian metaphysics, sound healing, and scientific inquiry.
Strategic Shift in Identity and Scope
According to the Foundation, the renaming of NYRC to NYRI aligns with international standards and allows for better collaboration with research institutions and policy bodies.
“The term ‘Institute’ reflects a level of scientific discipline and credibility that matches our current and future scope,” said a Foundation spokesperson. “It also allows us to align better with institutions like WHO, AIIMS, and UNESCO.”
The move is also expected to enhance the Foundation’s ability to publish in peer-reviewed journals and enter research-based CSR collaborations with both Indian and international partners.
Expanding Global Collaborations
NYRI is set to conduct clinical studies on the physiological and neurological effects of Vedic mantras using tools like EEG, heart rate variability monitors, and sound resonance analytics. The research aims to evaluate the potential of mantra frequencies as non-invasive therapeutic interventions for stress, sleep disorders, and emotional regulation.
As Principal Research Advisor, Devrishi will oversee research direction, partnerships, and the scientific framework that guides the institute’s operations.
“Our objective is to bring sacred sound into the realm of reproducible science,” Devrishi said. “We want to offer the world a model that is culturally rooted and clinically valid.”
Upcoming Research & Events
A flagship programme, titled Nada Yagya, is scheduled for June 21, 2025, where 51 Vedic scholars will engage in synchronised chanting under scientific observation. The event will generate biometric data on stress, coherence, and resonance — which will later be compiled into a research whitepaper for submission to national and international health bodies.
The Foundation is also preparing a set of Sonic Retreats, offering structured environments to observe real-world applications of mantra therapy in both urban and rural settings.
About Sanatan Wisdom Foundation
